The Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering is the oldest institution of its kind in the region of South-Eastern Europe and the only one with comprehensive education programs for experts in the fields of traffic, transport, communications and logistics.

The purpose of the Faculty of Traffic is to define traffic as a scientific discipline that goes beyond traffic technology and methods. Whether the traffic is by plane, car, truck, or other form of transportation that will be developed in the future, fundamental properties and rules can be established. Traffic science defines the characteristics of traffic and shows how our knowledge and skill about one type of traffic can be used to explain the behavior of another.

Transportation science is motivated by the desire to explain the spatial interactions that lead to the movement of people or objects from place to place. She uses the methodologies of physics, operations research, probability and management theory. It is based on mathematical models and optimization algorithms with the aim of explaining the traffic phenomenon. As such, transportation science is aimed at the broader research community, practicing transportation engineers, and future scholars who will be engaged in the transportation phenomenon.

What do we offer

The Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering organize academic studies based on accredited higher education study programmes. Academic study programmes gives students the opportunity to develop and apply their scientific and professional achievements, gaining their skills to competitive level that is necessary for success in later work.

Academic studies are divided into the following categories:

Undergraduate academic studies, lasting four years and granting, upon their completion, 240 ECTS points. A student who completes first degree academic studies with at least 240 ECTS acquires the professional title of Bachelor of Science in Traffic Engineering.
Master academic studies, lasting one year and granting, upon their completion, 60 ECTS points. A student who completes these second degree academic studies acquires the academic title of Master of Science in Traffic Engineering.
Doctoral academic studies, lasting three years and granting, upon their completion, at least 180 ECTS points. A student who completes doctoral academic studies of third degree acquires the scientific title of a PhD (Science) – Traffic Engineering.
