Faculty of Mining and Geology, University of Belgrade

The Faculty of Mining and Geology is an educational and scientific institution within the University of Belgrade. Educates experts on basic, specialist, master’s and doctoral studies. In addition, it carries out innovations in knowledge, professional education and training in the main fields, as well as scientific research work. So far, 6437 students have graduated from the faculty, 590 have master’s degrees, 17 have specialized, and 448 candidates have defended their doctoral dissertations.

The Faculty of Mining and Geology in Belgrade is the only faculty in our country that educates engineers in two different fields: geology and mining. For years, our teaching programs have been harmonized with the programs of the most famous faculties and universities of similar or the same activity in the world. The studies are multidisciplinary but also concrete – they prepare young staff for various tasks in practice.

What do we offer

Today, the Faculty of Mining and Geology is an institution that meets the standards of modern higher education and offers young people the opportunity to be educated for various professions within the mining and geological engineering profession with the help of internationally recognized experts, excellent lecturers and the use of modern equipment and literature. Studying in one of the departments of the Faculty of Mining and Geology is ideal for young people who love nature and the challenge of studying it.

In addition to standard schooling, work in the laboratory and at the computer, future mining and geological engineers also have field practice as part of their compulsory education. Going to the field is the best part of the teaching duties. In the natural environment, students are directly introduced to the natural phenomena and processes they are studying. Living together is always an opportunity for socializing and establishing communication between students and teaching staff, which is one of the basic prerequisites for the success of modern teaching.
