Faculty of Hotel Management and TourisDriven by an idea to create a unique program in hospitality that is supposed to support further tourism development in Serbia, the University of Kragujevac with the assistance of the Republic of Serbia, has established the Faculty of Hotel Management and Tourism in Vrnjačka Banja in 2011. Certainly, one of the main objectives of the Faculty is develop new generations of managers prepared to undertake on greatest challenges of the modern hospitality industry. We aim to do so by creating a well balanced combination between classical lecturing and learning through hands-on experience. For that reason the Faculty has committed itself to finding the best partners in the tourism industry, starting from the well-know hotel chains and respected tour operators to organizers of large cultural manifestations and events. The desired goal is to prepare our students as much as possible for endeavors in their future careers, through enabling them to gain invaluable experience while still at school.

The Faculty is located in Vrnjačka Banja – a well renowned Serbian spa – which attracts tourist for over 175 years. Vrnjačka Banja is often referred to as the “queen of the continental tourism” and it is considered to be a birthplace of the Serbian tourism. So far, Vrnjačka Banja has welcomed hundreds of thousands tourists throughout its reach history.

Study program Hotel Management and Tourism

Undergraduate studies (Bachelor) – 4 years

We are among the best European educational institutions specialized in hotel management and tourism. In this four-year program, you will get to know the basics of economics, hotel management and tourism. You will find out what entrepreneurship is. You will master the necessary IT knowledge, communication skills and speak English as your mother tongue. You will sail into the waters of strategic management, hotel and tourism management at the national and international level. You will understand what the service sector is and your role in it. You will find out what market research is and learn how to do it. You will understand the business of travel agencies, you will find out how a hotel is built, you will get to know the organization and work of all hotel departments. You will learn how to manage tourist destinations.

Four year undergraduate academic studies at the Faculty of Hotel Management and Tourism can be enrolled by candidates who have completed four-year high school programs.

When ranking the candidates, the following criteria will be taken into consideration:

High school GPA – maximum 40 points. Number of points is determined by summing up GPA for all four years of high school, which is then multiplied by two and rounded to two decimals.
Entrance exam – maximum 60 points. Number of points is determined based on the number of correct answers given on the entrance exam.

By summing up points gained from high school and entrance exam, ranking of all candidates is conducted.

Foreign citizens planning to continue their higher education in Serbia are paying for their education in full (unless there is an international contract stating otherwise). When applying for enrollment, candidates submit validated diploma earned in another country. The candidates are required to submit the proof of: a) health insurance for the academic year they are enrolling into and b) a certificate issued by a relevant Committee proving that they can speak and understand Serbian language. Study Program Gastronomic Management

Undergraduate studies (Bachelor) – 4 years

In this four-year program, you will get to know the basics of gastronomy, economics, hotel management and tourism. You will understand the management of natural resources and the problems of nutrition of modern society and modern man. If you have an affinity for entrepreneurship, we will teach you that. You will master English as your mother tongue and learn the rules of business communication. You will go one step further and learn the importance of food safety and quality, as well as food and beverage technology. You will learn to make standards, calculate costs and form sales prices. You will learn how to earn from your work! It is said that food can be a disease or a medicine. You will learn to prepare gastronomic products that are medicine and how to cure diseases through food. You will practically work in a creative way, you will learn to prepare food that is attractive to the eye and beautiful for taking pictures and posting on Instagram.
